About the Role

As a Sunway motorcoach driver in Winston-Salem, you'll drive our modern coaches on scheduled line runs and on charters. Line run drivers are home most nights. Charter work can include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights, depending on trip needs.

This role requires a valid Class B CDL with a Passenger (P) endorsement. Prior motorcoach, charter, intercity, or transit driving experience is preferred. See the full duties and requirements below, then apply in about five minutes.

Job Summary

Sunway Charters is seeking professional motorcoach drivers to safely transport passengers on charters and scheduled routes while delivering a professional, customer-first experience. You'll operate a motorcoach in compliance with all traffic laws and applicable federal and state regulations, support passenger needs (including ADA assistance), and complete required trip documentation. Drivers represent our company on every trip through safe driving, clear communication, and a clean, well-managed coach.

What You'll Do

Operate a motorcoach safely in varying conditions (day and night, city and highway, all weather), putting passenger safety first.
Provide excellent customer service: greet passengers, give clear trip updates, and stay calm and professional when issues arise.
Assist passengers as needed, including baggage handling and boarding and deboarding support, including for passengers with disabilities.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report defects or maintenance needs promptly, and keep the coach clean and presentable.
Follow assigned routes, itineraries, and schedules while driving smoothly and defensively.
Accurately complete required paperwork and electronic logs, trip reports, and incident documentation.
Comply with Hours of Service rules for passenger-carrying operations and all company safety policies.
Communicate with Dispatch and Operations about delays, incidents, passenger needs, and equipment issues.

What You'll Need

Licenses and eligibility

A valid Class B CDL with a Passenger (P) endorsement.
A DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (medical card), or the ability to obtain one.
At least 25 years old (21 to 24 with prior CDL experience).
Willingness to comply with all Hours of Service requirements for passenger operations.

Preferred

Prior motorcoach, charter, intercity, or transit driving experience.

Skills and fit

A strong safety mindset, a clean professional appearance, and dependable attendance.
Comfort using mobile apps and tablets for dispatch communication and trip documentation.
An innate sense of direction.
A self-starter who works well independently: disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.

Physical requirements

Able to sit for extended periods and stay alert on long drives.
Able to safely handle typical luggage and assist with baggage as the trip requires, and lift up to 100 lbs.
